abstract = {Component-based technologies are recently used to implement complex distributed systems. Testing of these systems becomes even more complicated. New test methods need to be investigated. Components of a system under test communicate via well-defined interfaces. It is to validate the behavior of (a set of) components at their interfaces. The paper proposes to build a test system itself from test components, which interact with the components under test via their interfaces. For the development of such test systems, a UML framework is used which contains base types for test components with generic behavior for the setup and configuration of a test system and for the exchange of coordination messages between test components. The paper discusses the aspect of automatic code generation of test components from UML specifications of test systems. An example of using the test framework is given.},
